Director - Lyndel Freeman

Lyndel Freeman is a dance educator, choreographer and performer and is also the managing director of The Loft. Lyndel trained in Ballet, Contemporary Dance & Theatre in Melbourne; Bachelor of Arts (Dance & Drama) and Bachelor of Teaching (Deakin University) as well as an Associate Diploma in Dance Instruction & Management (Box Hill TAFE). Other credentials include Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment.

Primarily working in educational and community contexts, Lyndel’s artistic priorities include the creation of new choreography and performance. She continues to develop her practise and is especially interested in finding innovative ways of merging theatre and dance. Most recently, Lyndel produced and directed The Violin (April 2009), a dance theatre work for room2move dance company, with text written by acclaimed playwright, Daniel Keene.

Presently, Lyndel is enjoying family leave from her teaching commitments.
